Correlate activity GPS tracklogs with audio voice note transcriptions
When you record voice memos on your Garmin watch during a workout, the watch stores VoiceNotesXX.wav audio recordings without embedded GPS location headers. You can transfer these files onto your computer using an application like OpenMTP. To correlate your actual coordinates during the activity with the recordings, you can also upload your activity .fit file.
You do not need a .fit file to use this app. If you only upload your .wav voice notes, the app determines timing offsets from the file modification dates, transcribes everything, and outputs a complete CSV list of timestamps with corresponding speech text. In practice, knowing what was said at a specific time delivers 80–90% of the overall value even without location coordinates.
Note start times are derived automatically from file modification dates minus recording duration. Using the +1 Hour, -1 Hour, or +1 Minute buttons allows you to align timestamps fast and straightforwardly to correct timezone differences or watch clock drift.
Audio files are not re-transcribed when you work only with timing offsets, keeping adjustments fast and instant. If you ever need or want to re-transcribe everything from scratch, simply reload the page.
When an activity .fit track file is uploaded alongside your voice notes, the app matches each note's timestamp to the exact GPS coordinate recorded at that moment. Voice notes recorded outside the activity window remain fully transcribed and are assigned UNKNOWN location fields.
